ALFA LABORATORIES

The work of the clinical laboratory professional - who analyzes chemical indicators in the body to provide the doctor with a clearer picture of a patient's health - has long been an unseen aspect of health care. Yet, clinical lab tests often provide the link between the patient's presentation of symptoms and the doctor's diagnosis of and prescribed treatment for a particular condition or disease. Through preventative screening, laboratory tests also aid in the early detection of potentially fatal conditions, and in so doing, lead to early treatment. In short, lab tests can help both to save lives and to improve the quality of life.

Mission Statement
The mission of Alfa laboratories is to improve health by providing clinical laboratory testing services, including highly sophisticated techniques for the prevention, early assessment, and comprehensive management of complex chronic disease. We seek to build and maintain the reputation of highest quality and reliability for the services that we offer and to advance this specialty area of medicine through education, research, and publications.

Quality
At Alfa laboratories, our goal is to provide our clients with timely, accurate and dependable test results and support services. Alfa Laboratories is also renowned for raising the standards of quality in clinical laboratory practice and unparalleled service including faster turn-around times so physicians can quickly receive the critical information they need to guide patient management decisions. In fact, service and quality are the focus of many of Alfa’s current management goals; the metrics detailing achievements and areas in which improvement is necessary are available to clients.

Turnaround Time
Test turnaround time is the number of days that will usually elapse between the time we receive a specimen and the time the results of that specimen are released. Quality Assurance
The primary goal of the Quality Assurance program at Alfa Laboratories is to deliver quality results in a timely fashion to our clients. This program is designed to assess and monitor all aspects of the laboratory, from specimen collection kit construction and delivery through accessioning and specimen validation, assay performance, result reporting, and customer service.
The analytical performance of the laboratory is monitored through external and internal programs.
Internal Quality control is monitored by running high standard quality control material with each run, running split samples within our own laboratory, and running split samples with other quality laboratories.
